As Suh Do ho is
the one of the most popular Korean installation artist, He has given me a lot of impressions.
He was born in Seoul 1962 and he gain B.F.A and M.F.A in Seoul University.
After he graduated Seoul University, he continued his studies in Yale University.
His works are mostly about house and it shows how he missed the Korean house.
For example, one of his famous work “Bridging home" built in the
Liverpool, London, he installed a Korean traditional house between the
Liverpool buildings. He has had a lot of exhibitions, such as, Storefront for
Art and Architecture Serpentine, Gallery, London, Seattle Art Museum and Whitney Museum of American Art
in Philip Morris. He has also done group exhibitions, such as Baltimore
Museum of art, Museum of Modern art in New York and Huston Museum of Fine Art. Other
artwork that I impressed is Fallen star. It is also about the house. The work
is about an old house hang the Korean traditional house, which also shows how
he missed his Koreran house. As a result, His
works contain missing Korean culture and how hard living in foreign country as
an immigrant and international students.
